Dr. Christine Moody
Founder
Dr. Moody is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience working with individuals and families. In terms of background, Dr. Moody earned her PhD from UCLA in 2020, where she received extensive clinical and research training focused on child mental health and neurodiversity across the lifespan. Dr. Christine completed her APA-accredited internship at St. John's Child and Family Development Center and returned to UCLA for her postdoctoral fellowship at the UCLA PEERS® Clinic and UCLA TIES for Families, which provides mental health services for youth in foster care or who have been adopted from foster care.
Dr. Moody has specialized training in multiple evidence-based therapy models to support children and their families, including approaches to address emotion and behavioral regulation, anxiety and depression, social communication and social skills, family relationships, and parenting. Clinically, Dr. Moody places particular value in working with parents as part of mental health treatment for children - believing parents can be a powerful supportive factor for youth of all ages. For adults, Dr. Moody draws upon cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles, infused with mindfulness and PEERS® social skills programming, to help individuals reach their goals.
Outside of Basecamp, Dr. Moody currently serves as the Associate Director at the UCLA PEERS® Clinic, where she engages in the development, testing, and clinical implementation of evidence-based social skills programming for neurodivergent youth and adults. She also leads the postsecondary education and employment initiatives at the UCLA Tarjan Center, including a large-scale partnership with the California Community College Chancellor's Office toward creating more neuroinclusive college campuses through professional development for faculty and staff.
